Academics and Curriculum

Lightworkers Academy is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows the CBSE curriculum. A learner-oriented curriculum where the teachers stride towards making education interesting as well as value-added is followed.

Pre-Primary (Nursery & Preparatory)

Children are at their learning best at this stage. The school ensures to make this learning process a joyful one by engaging the students in multiple activities like action rhymes, storytelling, art & craft, music and dance thus enhancing their fine motor and gross motor skills. Children also enjoy the smart class digital content and the play area. The children are assessed based on their daily interaction with their teachers. No formal test are conducted and the emphasis being on ‘Learning by doing’ .

Primary (I – V)

The primary wing focuses on providing the children a platform to think creatively and out of the box . A system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is being followed . The exams are conducted in the form of Weekly Tests.

Educational field trips and tours promote experiential learning. Students are taken to visit Museums, Parks, places of historical significance, Scientific learning centres .

Academics and Co Curriculum Activities

Co-curricular activities prepare students for future challenges and provide ample opportunities for them to work in collaboration, to exercise leadership, and take up responsibility and new initiatives and develop 21st century skills.

Art & Craft education includes teaching of techniques for free hand drawing and coloring, Painting on canvas, glass and fabric and face painting.

Western and Indian vocal music and Instrumental music is taught.

The many musical instrumentals available are Tabla, Harmonium, Keyboard, Guitar, Drums, Dholak, Jalhra and Manjera Coaching is available for Keyboard, Guitar and drums.

Indian Classical and Contemporary Dance forms are taught.

Club activities pave the way for self- expression, creativity and leadership. Every student is a part of at least one of the clubs namely, Literary club, Science, Quizzing and Environment club and Fine arts club.

The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary discipline which gives the message of ”Service to People”. Scouts and Guides is a worldwide movement which helps to instil good values, discipline and responsibility to develop us into a full fledged individual. By attending camps one learns to be humble in case of success and sportive in case of failure and develops good relationship with others. Sessions are conducted twice a week. Camps are conducted to develop leadership skills and self discipline to be a team player.

The Daily School assembly is a thematic one and is conducted class wise. Every child is given an opportunity and a platform to present themselves . The assembly includes Prayer, group song, a passage in English, Hindi and Tamil and good thoughts. Celebrations and Special days call for Special assemblies which include speeches,dance and skits to showcase the significance of the day.

To give the children the competitive edge they are divided into four houses which are based on the names of Indian Rivers from the four directions of our Country. They are Ganga, Mahanadi, Krishna and Narmada. Various Inter - House cultural, sports and knowledge related competitions are planned and points are awarded to the houses. Trophies are given to the house with maximum points and is declared the House of the year.
